Estonia is a democratic unitary parliamentary republic covering a total area of 45,339 square kilometres (17,505 sq mi) with a population of just over 1.3 million. There is currently no law in Estonia requiring urban mobility planning. The Government plans to establish a support scheme for sustainable urban mobility planning and related measures. The Ministry of Interior is working on a national planning document that will include non-binding guidance on mobility planning. Funding for SUMPs is available from the Estonian Environmental Investment Fund and the EU European Regional Development Fund.
